From drool monster to big boy.

This week while dropping off Kami at Montessori School, my wife was told by early next year Kami is going to be moved from his current class of 18 month to 3 year olds to the bigger room where the 3 to 5 year olds reside, even though he won’t be 3 until March.  My wife calls me on my cell, sad because Kami is going to the big boy class and in her exact words “our little boy is growing up”.  The only thing I could tell her is “I know!”.  What else can I say?

Kami is growing up in front of our eyes and I’m trying not to miss a moment! He holds conversations with you, tells you what he wants and needs, and tells us to ‘go to your room’ like we tell him all the time. Top it all off, he has to have this dinky watch we got in some happy meal a few weeks back on at ALL TIMES!!! I guess I’m to blame for that for sticking my watches on his wrist and letting him play with them when he was younger.

I suppose me not taking pictures of him like I used to doesn’t help either, because every time I take a picture of him, he looks so much older than the last set of pictures I took of him.  Perfect example is the following images.  Last weekend, we were at a friends house while I was doing some family pictures for them and I snapped these pictures of Kami & Mommy in the midst of the shoot.  Look how big he’s getting!!!

Love seeing him grow, love the new things he learns and says, miss the little kid I had so much fun with and didn’t talk smack back to me! But I guess thats what the new baby girl that’ll be here in April is going to be for, right? At least until she grows up and asks for a Mercedes Benz as her first car or something… which she’ll probably get since she’ll be daddy’s little girl, and the only girl on my side of the family! Oh, to be spoiled. She’s not even here yet and I’m spoiling her.
